 Gurjot Singh, Brasa BJJ Black Belt, and leader of Temple Underground will be returning to the Mat Monster Grappling Series mats against the debuting Bob Vereecke, Gracie Barra Black Belt, and leader of Greeneville Jiu-Jitsu on January 20th at Mat Monster 8.
The history between these two distinguished Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belts is an interesting one as Singh was a student under Vereecke and the late Buddy Morgan at Greeneville Gracie Barra (now Greeneville Jiu-Jitsu) where Singh picked up multiple IBJJF Pan Ams and World titles while representing Gracie Barra under the guidance of Vereecke, Buddy Morgan, and the great Samuel Braga.

 Tennessee has a new Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt as East Tennessee's Jerry Burns of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Foothills has been promoted by Master Luiz Palhares during at a seminar a Shield Systems Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts in Knoxville, TN.
Jerry, a long time student under the Luiz Palhares affiliation, becomes one of the few Black Belts in the area promoted directly by Luiz Palhares. Luiz Palhares, an 8th Degree Black Belt under the legendary Rickson Gracie, has a handful of affiliate schools in Tennessee, one of which is Jerry's academy Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Foothills in Seymour, TN. |
